Navy Exercises $252M Option on Bechtel’s Nuclear Propulsion Program Support Contract

A Bechtel subsidiary will continue its work on naval nuclear propulsion components for U.S. Navy submarines and aircraft carriers under a $252.4 million contract option.

The military service will provide Bechtel Plant Machinery Inc. the full award value using fiscal 2021 shipbuilding and conversion funds, the Department of Defense said Monday.

BPMI provides design, manufacturing and supply chain management services to the Navy as a prime contractor for the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program.

Naval Sea Systems Command issued three NNPP support contracts worth $1.76 billion combined in late 2018.
