Army Exercises $114M Option to Extend Palantir’s Work on ‘Vantage’ Data Analytics Program

The U.S. Army has awarded Palantir Technologies (NYSE: PLTR) a potential $113.8M contract option to continue work on a program that seeks to facilitate the decision-making process through a data analytics platform.

The award made by the service’s program executive office for enterprise information systems represents the first option year under a potential four-year, $458M production agreement the Army awarded in December 2019 in support of the Vantage program, Palantir said Monday.

The Vantage program, previously known as Army Leader Dashboard, intends to develop a data management platform designed to integrate data from legacy and new systems and seeks to provide the service with a common tool to analyze and visualize data.

Last year, the Army awarded Palantir $110M to develop prototypes and integrate large volumes of data from disparate systems under the agreement’s base term.

“This renewal highlights the partnership between Palantir and the Army,” said Doug Philippone, global defense lead at Palantir. “Vantage continues to fulfill its mission of helping the U.S. Army make the best possible use of its data.”

Palantir’s software offering supports the Vantage program by providing the service a single operating platform that offers real-time visibility into data and access to various data sources.
