Washington, D.C.-based development consulting firm Chemonics International has purchased the goverment services unit of San Francisco-based utility and energy management software provider Nexant for an undisclosed sum.

Chemonics said Tuesday it will absorb all of the unit's personnel and assets that include contracts with the U.S. Agency for International Development, as well as Nexant's energy professionals that work outside of the acquired business.
