Trenton Janda, a former U.S. Coast Guard medical officer and U.S. Army physician, has joined government health technology contractor Apprio as chief medical innovation officer.

He will oversee Apprio’s health practice and innovation to support federal agencies such as the Department of Health and Human Services, National Guard Bureau and USCG, the company said Tuesday.

“During Dr. Janda’s tenure working as a physician for our armed forces and his work supporting government healthcare, he’s been instrumental in using technology and analytics to advance federal health,” said Apprio President Darryl Britt.

“His expertise will be hugely valuable as we continue to serve the federal agencies that directly support our nation’s health,” Janda added.

Janda served in the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service from June 2007 to August 2019 and previously worked as a clinical reviewer at the Food and Drug Administration, where he performed comparative analyses of generic and branded drug products.
