David Melcher Named Cubic Lead Independent Director


David Melcher

David Melcher, an aerospace and defense industry veteran, has been appointed by the board to serve as independent lead director at Cubic (NYSE: CUB).

“After careful consideration, Cubic’s board feels Dave will be a strong successor as lead independent director with his passion for innovation and industry expertise,” said Bradley Feldmann, chairman, president and CEO of Cubic, said in a statement published Monday.

Melcher succeeds Edwin Guiles, a board member of Cubic since 2008 who passed on June 7.

Melcher, a two-time Wash100 winner, is a retired U.S. Army lieutenant general who previously served as president and CEO of the Aerospace Industries Association. Prior to AIA, he held senior leadership roles at Exelis and ITT (NYSE: ITT). He is a former White House fellow and sits on the board of CR BARD.
