Ensco Gets DHS Contract for Continued Work on Indoor Biothreat Detection System

TYSONS CORNER, VA, April 15, 2019 — Ensco will continue its work to develop a system designed to detect biological hazards in high-occupancy indoor facilities under a $2.9M contract from the Department of Homeland Security, ExecutiveBiz reported Friday.

DHS said Thursday it tapped Ensco for the next phase of the SenseNet program, which seeks to produce an integrated multi-sensor biological detection system, in continuation of the company’s previous effort culminating in the demonstration of a prototype platform for various building layouts.

Ensco will perform development, integration, test and other activities focused on an aerosol detection system equipped with dedicated environmental monitoring sensors as well as “newly emerging” commercial sensors.
