General Atomics Holds 1st Flight of 2nd SkyGuardian RPA to Test Capabilities


TYSONS CORNER, VA, October 4, 2018 — General Atomics has flown a second MQ-9B SkyGuardian variant of the Predator B remotely piloted aircraft as part of preparations to deliver to its first customer in the 2020s, ExecutiveBiz reported Wednesday.

The company said Tuesday its aeronautical systems business held the initial flight of the second SkyGuardian at the Laguna Army Airfield in Arizona with the goal to continue development tests and demonstrations of new and updated features, with further tests planned on its Certified Redundant Control Module, flight controller modifications and associated Certifiable Ground Control Station.
