AM General to Build Military Ambulance Vehicles Under $562M Army Contract

The U.S. Army has awarded AM General a $562.4M contract to manufacture ambulance-configured High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles.

The Defense Department said Friday it expects the company to complete work by March 13, 2024.

The service branch will provide funds and performance locations with each order under the cost and firm-fixed-price contract.

AM General’s M997A3 HMMWV military ambulance is built with a protective armor structure and designed to transport up to eight injured warfighters to medical stations.
