ICF to Acquire DMS Disaster Consultants

ICF (Nasdaq: ICFI) has moved to expand the Fairfax, Va.-based company’s disaster management and resilience business with the acquisition of DMS Disaster Consultants.

Boca Raton, Fla.-based DMS works with public sector clients to help them develop risk management and mitigation strategies as well as manage data from disaster recovery efforts using the disasTRAX software, ICF said Thursday.

“Our teams share a common mission to encourage community and organization leaders to plan for the next disaster,” said DMS President David Shapiro.

Shapiro added that both companies aim to offer an integrated portfolio of disaster response, recovery and preparedness offerings.

For 22 years, DMS has supported over 30,000 disaster planning and recovery projects with financial support from programs such as the Community Development Block Grant initiative and the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Public Assistance Program, among other things.

ICF has worked with multiple federal, state and local agencies to conduct large-scale disaster recovery programs using funds from FEMA and the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
