General Dynamics NASSCO to Modernize Navy Guided Missile Cruiser Under Potential $155M Contract

A General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) subsidiary has landed a potential $154.8 million contract from the U.S. Navy to update, repair and maintain systems of a Ticonderoga-class guided missile cruiser.

NASSCO will provide workforce and facilities needed to coordinate, integrate and complete requirements for the USS Cowpens ship’s fiscal 2018 modernization period availability, the Defense Department said Tuesday.

The contract has a base value of $147.6 million and would reach the potential cumulative value if all options are exercised.

Work will take place in San Diego through December 2019.

The Naval Sea Systems Command received one offer for the project through a full-and-open competition on the FedBizOpps website.
