Northrop Begins Full-Rate Production of F-35 Center Fuselage


TYSONS CORNER, VA, July 3, 2018 — Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) has moved to the full-rate production of the center fuselage of the F-35 fighter aircraft built by Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT), ExecutiveBiz reported Monday.

Northrop said Friday it will manufacture the fuselage at a rate of one per day and a half at its aircraft integration center of excellence located in Palmdale, Calif., where the integrated assembly line will utilize predictive automation, robotics, virtual 3D and autonomous technologies to support FRP operations.
