Boeing’s Leanne Caret: Data Sharing for AI Dev’t Will Be on Per-Case Basis

Leanne Caret

TYSONS CORNER, VA, July 25, 2018 — Leanne Caret, president and CEO of Boeing‘s (NYSE: BA) defense, space and security business, has indicated the company will consider several factors, including the nature of the client, in potential opportunities for data sharing to drive artificial intelligence development, ExecutiveBiz reported July 16.

Defense News reported July 15 that Caret, a 2018 Wash100 awardee, and other Boeing executives acknowledged ahead of the 2018 Farnborough International Airshow that the age of AI calls for industry to be flexible about data sharing to help train algorithms.

Caret noted that Boeing will look into those opportunities “on an individual basis” as the business model and technology innovation would also differ.
