Raytheon Integrates Navigation Payload for FAA Air Traffic Network


TYSONS CORNER, VA, June 25, 2018 — Raytheon (NYSE: RTN) has equipped the Federal Aviation Administration‘s Wide Area Augmentation System network with a navigation payload that will work to address ionospheric disturbances, timing issues and minor orbit changes that could impact GPS satellite signals, ExecutiveBiz reported Friday.

The company said Thursday it has now fully integrated the Geosynchronous Earth Orbiting 5 WAAS payload, which has since become operational to support efforts to ensure GPS accuracy and reliability.
