TYSONS CORNER, VA, April 6, 2018 — NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory has selected SSL, a subsidiary of Maxar Technologies (NYSE: MAXR), to design and build a critical system for spacecraft designed to perform investigative flybys to explore Jupiter’s Europa moon, ExecutiveBiz reported Wednesday.

SSL said Tuesday it will develop the Remote Engineering Unit that will serve as an interface between the Europa Clipper spacecraft’s thermal sensors, attitude control systems and flight computer and support upcoming deep space exploration missions.

“Our work on the Europa Clipper mission continues our legacy with NASA and JPL, and furthers our overarching goal to develop disruptive technologies that advance humankind’s mission in space,” said Richard White, president of SSL’s government systems business.
