Orbital ATK Positions NGL Rocket for Air Force Launch Services Agreement

TYSONS CORNER, VA, April 16, 2018 — Orbital ATK (NYSE: OA) has submitted a bid for one of the U.S. Air Force‘s Launch Services Agreements, with the company’s Next Generation Launch system as the rocket on offer, in response to the service branch’s efforts to identify multiple launch options for national security satellites through the 2020s, ExecutiveBiz reported Friday.

Spaceflight Now reported Thursday that the Air Force plans to issue three cost-sharing agreements this summer, and that Orbital ATK is positioning its NGL rocket, which features a solid-fueled first and second stage and a cryogenic liquid-fueled upper stage, as a candidate to launch future payloads.
