Boeing Anticipates FAA Airworthiness Certification for KC-46 After Flight Tests


TYSONS CORNER, VA, April 30, 2018 — Boeing (NYSE: BA) has completed tests required for the KC-46 aerial refueling aircraft to secure a Supplemental Type Certificate from the Federal Aviation Administration in efforts to establish airworthiness, ExecutiveBiz reported Friday.

The company said Thursday the tanker underwent tests including validation of the boom and drogue systems, defensive systems and avionics; flights in the day and nighttime; as well as receiving of fuel from other tankers as the program advances toward first delivery to the U.S. Air Force.
