A CSRA (NYSE: CSRA) subsidiary has received a potential five-year, $64 million task order to provide network operations and security support for the National Institutes of Health’s center for information technology.

SRA International will help CIT design, implement and run the NIHnet and deliver support services to the Trusted Internet Connection at the Department of Health and Human Services through the award, CSRA said Monday.

“Through this award, we will support CIT’s vision of building, operating, modernizing and securing the backbone of their network and enable NIH researchers and administrators to execute their life-saving missions,” said Kamal Narang, vice president of CSRA’s health group.

The task order has a one-year base term and four option years and also covers network engineering, systems monitoring and network performance management services.

CSRA will also help CIT perform facility infrastructure updates; increase the adoption of wireless and virtual private networks; build up quality of service configuration management; and advance the use of software-defined network and network virtualization.
