General Atomics Unit to Develop High-Energy-Density Capacitors for Future Navy Microwave Platforms


TYSONS CORNER, VA, Feb. 2, 2018 — A General Atomics business unit will work to build capacitors with high energy density that will serve as components of future high-power microwave systems for the U.S. Navy, ExecutiveBiz reported Thursday.

The company said Wednesday the contract –  awarded to its electromagnetic systems business through the Defense Ordnance Technology Consortium — covers research, development and demonstration of the capacitors in support of future applications in directed energy as well as land- and sea-based platforms.
