Report: Boeing’s KC-46 Tanker Eyed for FAA Supplemental Type Certificate


TYSONS CORNER, VA, Jan. 30, 2018 — Boeing‘s (NYSE: BA) KC-46 Pegasus aerial refueling aircraft is anticipated to receive a supplemental type certificate for its military-specific components soon, following the Federal Aviation Administration‘s award of an amended type certificate in December, ExecutiveBiz reported Monday.

Military Times reported Thursday that Gen. Carlton Everhart, head of Air Mobility Command, estimated the aerial tanker, which is based on the 767-2C airframe, is 94-percent complete with tests to check its military systems and could potentially earn STC within 70 days.
