Report: Germany Eyes Lockheed’s F-35 for New Fighter Fleet


TYSONS CORNER, VA, Nov. 13, 2017 — Lockheed Martin‘s (NYSE: LMT) F-35 fighter jet is a prospective replacement for the German air force’s fleet of Panavia Tornado fighter aircraft, ExecutiveBiz reported Friday.

IHS Jane’s Defense Weekly reported Wednesday Germany looks to consider F-35 as its preferred choice among the platforms indicated in a shortlist of potential replacements between 2025 and 2030 as the German military plans to retire the Tornado near the end of that time frame.
