TYSONS CORNER, VA, Oct. 31, 2017 â InmarsatÂ has named Arianespace as the launch services provider for the upcoming fifthÂ Global XpressÂ communications satellite that Thales Alenia Space is building based on the updated Spacebus 4000 B2Â platform, ExecutiveBiz reported Monday.
Arianespace said FridayÂ it will launch GX-5 from the Guiana Space Center in theÂ French Guiana in 2019 using an Ariane 5Â heavy-lift launcher, after which the satellite will provide services to Europe, the Indian subcontinent and the Middle East as part of the GX constellation.
