CTC Earns Patent for New Additive Manufacturing Process; Ed Sheehan Comments

TYSONS CORNER, VA, Sept. 26, 2017 — Concurrent Technologies Corp. has secured a patent on an additive manufacturing process that works to produce three-dimensional objects from metals in a gaseous state, ExecutiveBiz reported Sept. 19.

The company said Sept. 18 the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office awarded the patent for the “Additive Manufacturing Using Metals from the Gaseous State” concept that is a result of collaboration between CTC engineers and scientists as well as professional partners.

“Our engineers creatively applied a basic metallurgical theory for the manufacture of a real part,” said Ed Sheehan Jr., president and CEO of CTC.
