TYSONS CORNER, VA, Aug. 16, 2017 — Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has completed the integration of an updated A2100 communications satellite for Arabsat and the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology organization in Saudi Arabia, ExecutiveBiz reported Friday.

“We’ve modeled this activity in our virtual reality lab hundreds of times, but this is the first time we’ve performed the integration activity of our modernized A2100 satellite in a clean room,” Rick Ambrose, executive vice president of Lockheed’s space systems business and an inductee into Executive Mosaic’s Wash100 for 2017, said in a company statement issued Thursday.

The Hellas-Sat-4/SaudiGeoSat-1 spacecraft will advance to final assembly and tests toward its scheduled launch in the second quarter of 2018 to eventually provide telecommunications services to customers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
