TOWNSHEND ISLAND, Australia (July 13, 2017) Landing craft air cushion (LCAC) vehicles assigned to Naval Beach Unit (NBU) 7 unload personnel and equipment from the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (31st MEU) on the beach as part of large-scale amphibious assault training during Talisman Saber 17. LCACs launched from the amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) enabled movement of 31st MEU forces and equipment ashore in order for the MEU to complete mission objectives in tandem with Australian counterparts.
