Cubic Eyes Wireless Comms Capability Expansion Via Deltenna Purchase; Bradley Feldmann Comments

Cubic (NYSE: CUB) has wrapped up its purchase of U.K.-based radio and antenna communication platforms provider Deltenna for an undisclosed sum in a push to build up wireless communications capabilities for training and tactical applications.

Deltenna designs and produces rugged antennas, broadband range extensions, Long Term Evolution base stations and other wireless products designed for use by emergency response teams and public safety personnel, Cubic said Tuesday.

Deltenna has at least 10 pending and issued patents related to integrated wireless systems and antennas that incorporate LTE/4G technology.

“With Deltenna, we will strengthen our capability of developing and integrating products that will change the way our military forces communicate, train and operate,” said Bradley Feldmann, Cubic president and CEO.

The Deltenna acquisition seeks to reflect Cubic’s efforts to grow its command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance service offerings through access to LTE/4G technology, Defense News reported Tuesday.

Feldmann also told Defense News in an interview that he expects growth in the area of “on-the-move communications.”

“There’s also a notion of joint area layered network, [which bridges disparate voice and data communications systems] where there is growth,” he said.
