BAE, UK Partners to Launch Testing Service for Maritime Autonomous Systems


TYSONS CORNER, VA, July 18, 2017 — BAE Systems will work with several companies to develop a testing service for unmanned maritime systems in the U.K. through an estimated $598,000 grant from the Solent Local Enterprise Partnership, ExecutiveBiz reported Monday.

The grant calls for collaboration with Blue Bear Systems Research, ASV Global, SeeByte, Marine Electronic Systems, the University of Southampton and other potential organizations to launch the first U.K. maritime autonomous systems testing service as part of an approximately $2 million investment, BAE said Sunday.
