Saab Lands Potential $219M Contract to Maintain Sweden’s Gripen C/D Aircraft


Saab has received a potential two-year, $218.6 million contract from Sweden’s defense materiel administration to provide continued maintenance and support services for the country’s Gripen C/D multirole fighter aircraft.

The company said Wednesday it will maintain components, procure equipment manage obsolescence, maintain spare parts, support technical systems and provide logistics services for the aircraft fleet.

Work will take place at the company’s facilities in Arboga, Gothenburg, Jarfalla, Linkoping, Ostersund and Vaxjo through December 2019.

Saab’s aeronautics, industrial products and services, surveillance and support and services businesses will  participate in contract work.

The contract also has options for additional aircraft maintenance, associated spare parts, obsolescence management and technical system support services.
