The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency has awarded Harris (NYSE: HRS) a potential five-year, $500 million contract to develop a software platform for NGA’s data search and retrieval activities.
The company said Tuesday it will develop the software to help NGA analysts and customers process content from multiple intelligence systems that support national security and military efforts.
Harris booked the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract during its fiscal third quarter.
NGA and Harris have worked together over the past 20 years in efforts to design and build geospatial systems, manage content and automate data processing.
The company also offers high-resolution data content and products through the agency’s Foundation GEOINT Content Management program.
