Steve Harris, Dell EMC Federal VP & GM, Chosen for 2017 Wash100

Executive Mosaic, Tysons Corner, VA March 6, 2017 — Steve Harris, vice president and general manager of Dell EMC’s federal business, has been selected to this year’s Executive Mosaic Wash100 for Digital and Cloud leadership.

The Wash100 is the premier group of private and public sector executives selected by Executive Mosaic’s organizational and editorial leadership as the most influential voices in the GovCon sector and recognized for their leadership and impact in shaping the industry.

Harris a 19-year Dell veteran assumed his current role at Dell Federal Systems in 2014, where he is responsible for the company’s implementation of information technology platforms and services for U.S. federal government and military customers.

Prior to his current role Harris served as assistant vice president of the company’s state and local government and education business for five years.

Subsequently he served in other senior leadership posts for the company’s SLED organization.

Dell and EMC completed their $67 billion cash-and-stock merger in September 2016.

This merger established Dell Technologies, an enterprise information technology company that seeks to offer clients a portfolio of tech platforms in cybersecurity, hybrid cloud and data analytics, among other areas. Dell EMC is one of the businesses that now operate under the Dell Technologies brand.

In November Dell EMC commissioned market research firm Penn Schoen Berland to conduct an online survey of 100 federal IT and business decision makers; where 93 percent of respondents said they consider converged infrastructure and mobility as significant characteristics of a “future-ready organization.”  44 percent said their agencies would invest in big data platforms in the coming year.

Harris commented, “Federal agencies largely appreciate the value of digital transformation, considering cloud, mobility and big data important to their organizations.”

When introducing this year’s Wash100 Executive Mosaic President and Founder Jim Garrettson said, “We are pleased to honor this years recipients. These individuals are recognized by their peers and Executive Mosaic for their outstanding achievements in the GovCon marketplace.”

“The GovCon market is well positioned for an exciting year of growth and prosperity in 2017 and these winners, through their leadership and vision, will shape and impact the industry.”
