Lockheed Plans New Johnstown, PA Facility for F-35 Parts Production; Ed Sheehan Comments

TYSONS CORNER, VA, March 27, 2017 — A subsidiary of Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) will lease a 35,000-square-foot facility in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, as part of company plans to expand production of F-35 parts and components, ExecutiveBiz reported Friday.

The Tribune-Democrat reported Friday Lockheed’s AeroParts business also aims to deploy more equipment and open at least 40 new jobs in the region by the end of 2018 as the company anticipates an increase in F-35 orders.

“This was competitively sought procurement, and it speaks to the quality of the workforce here in Johnstown and how cost-effective they are,” said Ed Sheehan, president and CEO of Concurrent Technologies Corp. and chair of Johnstown’s Showcase for Commerce program.
