Orbital ATK Picks EaglePicher to Supply Battery System for NOAA Polar Satellite


TYSONS CORNER, VA, Jan. 3o, 2017 — EaglePicher has been chosen by Orbital ATK (NYSE: OA) to produce a battery system with GS Yuasa Lithium Power-manufactured lithium-ion cells for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration‘s Joint Polar Satellite System-2, ExecutiveBiz reported Friday.

EaglePicher said Thursday it will integrate Li-ion battery platforms used on Orbital ATK’s GEOStar-3 satellite and NASA’s Ice, Cloud and land Elevation Satellite-2 to develop the JPSS-2 battery system.

Orbital ATK Gets $171M Navy Contract Option for Lot 7 Updated Anti-Radiation Missiles

Orbital ATK (NYSE: OA) has received a two-year, $171.2 million contract option to produce a seventh batch of Advanced Anti-Radiation Guided Missile systems for the U.S. Navy and foreign military sales customers. The company will convert 271 AGM-88B High Speed Anti-Radiation Missiles from the Navy into 253 AGM-88E AARGM all-up-rounds and eight Captive Air Training Missiles, the  Defense Department said Wednesday.
