Orbital ATK’s Unmanned Cargo Ship Begins Secondary Missions in Space


Orbital ATKTYSONS CORNER, VA, Nov. 23, 2016 — An Orbital ATK (NYSE: OA) Cygnus spacecraft that has left the International Space Station will facilitate meteorological and fire experiments as part of the unmanned cargo ship’s secondary missions in space, ExecutiveBiz reported Tuesday.

Orbital ATK said Monday its S.S. Alan Poindexter spacecraft will launch CubeSats into orbit with a deployer system to aid weather forecasting and conduct a second Spacecraft Fire Experiment-II to investigate the behavior of large-scale fires in microgravity.
