Iridium CEO Matt Desch Hopeful for SpaceX’s Return to Launch Services by End of Year


falcon9-272x270TYSONS CORNER, VA, Nov. 1, 2016 — Matt Desch, CEO of Iridium (Nasdaq: IRDM), has said the company hopes to see SpaceX resume launch services within the year as the investigation continues into the explosion of a Falcon 9 rocket in September, ExecutiveBiz reported Monday.

SpaceX has stated that it has discovered a way to replicate the conditions of the helium tank suspected to have caused the explosion and will perform stage tests in Texas to identify the root cause of the accident, Space News reported Monday.

“[We] have been following the investigation closely to determine when SpaceX will be able to return to flight, ” Desch added.
