TYSONS CORNER, VA, Sept. 19, 2016 — A survey sponsored by Unisys (NYSE: UIS) indicates that 69 percent of respondents from the federal, state and local governments support digital government programs, ExecutiveBiz reported Thursday.

The company said Thursday respondents have expressed concerns over potential security risks and the lack of staff expertise as challenges to digital government initiatives, although a majority believe such programs result in internal business process and service delivery improvements.

“Beyond the direct benefits offered by digital government, there are multiple indirect benefits to government agencies in terms of more mature capabilities and forward-looking workplace cultures, ” said Casey Coleman, group vice president for federal civilian agencies at Unisys.

“For these reasons, we believe more agencies will take the appropriate security measures and embrace digital government in the future.”
