Sikorsky Receives $135M Contract Modification From US Army for Taiwan Multimission Helicopter Production


Black HawkLockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) subsidiary Sikorsky Aircraft has received a $135.4 million contract modification from the U.S. Army to build 24 UH-60M Black Hawk  multimission helicopters configured for Taiwan under a foreign military sales deal.

Sikorsky will perform work in Stratford, Connecticut, through Oct. 8, 2018, the Defense Department said Wednesday.

The Army obligated the full amount of the modification from its fiscal 2016 “other” funds at the time of award.

Sikorsky received a separate $158.4 million contract modification on Wednesday to produce an additional 14 Black Hawk helicopters for the service branch.

The UH-60M helicopter incorporates the Army’s Future Combat Systems and automated aircraft health monitoring and provides vertical lift in the battlefield.
