General Atomics to Help MDA Develop, Test MQ-9 RPA Laser Tracker


General-Atomics-Aeronautical-Systems-LogoTYSONS CORNER, VA, Aug. 23, 2016 — The Missile Defense Agency has awarded General Atomics Aeronautical Systems a $9.6 million contract to design, build and test an MQ-9 Reaper precision tracking system, ExecutiveBiz reported Monday.

The Defense Department said Friday the company aims to demonstrate a flight representative laser with beam train optics in an effort to update the multispectral targeting system on the remotely piloted aircraft.
