CAE Lands $111M in UAE Contracts for Naval Training Facility, Helicopter Simulators; Gene Colabatistto Comments

TYSONS CORNER, VA, June 17, 2016 — CAE (NYSE: CAE) has received $111 million in contracts to establish a naval training center for the United Arab Emirates’ navy and and provide helicopter simulators to the country’s joint aviation command, ExecutiveBiz reported Thursday.

The company said Wednesday the contract for the training center is potentially worth $345 million while the simulators and training devices order is for the North Star Aviation‘s 407 Multi-Role Helicopter and Sikorsky‘s UH-60M Black Hawk.

“The UAE Navy selected CAE as its training partner because of our focus and expertise in training, ” said Gene Colabatistto, president of the company’s defense and security group.

“The UAE as well as other Gulf Cooperation Council countries are making significant investments in simulation-based training, ” he also noted.
