TYSONS CORNER, VA, April 15, 2016 — Casey Coleman, vice president for federal civilian agencies at Unisys (NYSE: UIS), believes new approaches such as Federal CIO Tony Scott’s “secure by design” concept for technology development work to ensure the security of federal networks, Executive Gov reported Wednesday.

Coleman wrote in a guest piece published Tuesday on Federal Times that the government has also sought to drive changes in the workforce and process through the hiring of security professionals and implementation of cybersecurity policies.

“[Traditional] perimeter-based defenses are not going to keep attackers out 100 percent of the time, ” she said.
