General Dynamics, Huntington Ingalls Get More Funds for 2 Arleigh Burke-Class Destroyers


Arleigh Burke class destroyerTYSONS CORNER, VA, April 1, 2016 — The U.S. Navy has awarded additional funds to General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) and Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE: HII) for the manufacture of two additional Arleigh Burke-class destroyers, ExecutiveBiz reported Thursday.

USNI News reported Wednesday General Dynamics Bath Iron Works and Ingalls Shipbuilding will build the seventh and eighth DDG 51 vessels with Flight IIA configuration.

General Dynamics received a $644.3 million contract modification while HII received a $618 million contract modification to fund the destroyers.
