Vormetric Survey: Talent Shortage, Budget Issues Barriers to Federal Cyber Tech Adoption

cybersecurityTYSONS CORNER, VA, March 30, 2016 — A survey by Vormetric reveals that federal IT leaders see the shortage in talent and ongoing budget constraints as the major hindrances to adoption of new data protection tools at government agencies, ExecutiveBiz reported Tuesday.

The company said Thursday the survey of 100 senior agency IT executives points to cyber criminals as the top perceived external threat actor and privileged users as the top internal threat.

Among the respondents, 90 percent believe their agency is vulnerable to threats, with 58 percent planning to increase IT security spending and 48 percent exploring security strategies from the private sector.
