TYSONS CORNER, VA, March 22, 2016 — Rick Ambrose, executive vice president of space systems at Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT), has indicated that work on the first GPS III satellite for the U.S. Air Force is scheduled to complete by August, ExecutiveBiz reported March 10.

SpaceNews reported March 9 that Ambrose said in an interview the satellite has moved forward to electromagnetic interference tests following the thermal vacuum test earlier this year.

“Having satellites done and ready to launch is the best way to convince people that we’re up and running, ” Ambrose told the publication.
