boeing logoTYSONS CORNER, VA, January 26, 2016 — Boeing (NYSE: BA) has completed the first refueling test of the company-built KC-46A Pegasus tanker aircraft with an F-16 jet, ExecutiveBiz reported Monday.

The company said Sunday the tanker offloaded up to 1, 600 pounds of fuel to the jet while flying over Washington state at an altitude of 20, 000 feet.

“[The flight test] kicks off the Milestone C aerial refueling demonstration, which is the prerequisite for the low-rate initial production decision, ” said U.S. Air Force Col. Christopher Coombs, program manager for the KC-46 system.
