ULA Awards Contract to Orbital ATK to Build Rocket Composite Structures


Orbital ATKTYSONS CORNER, VA, December 21, 2015 — Orbital ATK (NYSE: OA) will provide large composite structures for Delta IV and Atlas V rockets under a contract with United Launch Alliance in support of the U.S. Air Force‘s Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicles initiative, ExecutiveBiz reported Friday.

Orbital ATK said Thursday it will manufacture composite hardware such as payload adapters, engine thermal system-related structures and nose cones at a facility in Iuka, Mississippi.

“Our support of ULA EELV missions is a critical element of our aerospace structures business, ” said Steve Earl, vice president and general manager of the aerospace structures division at Orbital ATK.
