Mercury Systems Eyes National Security Sector With Newly Acquired Electronics Firm

acquisitionMercury Systems (Nasdaq: MRCY) has acquired privately held electronics company Lewis Innovative Technologies in efforts to expand Mercury’s embedded secure processing technology portfolio for the national security sector.

LIT will retain its market presence in the Huntsville region in Alabama following the acquisition, Mercury said Dec. 16.

“Embedded systems security has become a requirement for new and emerging military programs, ” noted Mark Aslett, president and CEO of Mercury.

He added that the combination of the two companies’ product lines works to address the Defense Department‘s security requirements.
