TYSONS CORNER, VA, November 5, 2015  – South Korea who agreed in 2013 to purchase 36 Boeing AH-64 Apache attack helicopters got an opportunity to see the newest helicopter up close, as reported by UPI.

The viewing of the helicopter took place in Mesa Arizona and was attended by Boeing executives and 50 additional guests, including South Korean government officials.

South Korea is purchasing the helicopters to ward off the threat of the North Korean hovercraft.

A South Korean Defense Acquisition Program Administration official commented to South Korean television that the helicopters are to be deployed starting mid-2016.
