ASRC Federal Buys Data Networks Corp; Mark Gray Comments

acquisition, mergerBeltsville, Maryland-based government contractor ASRC Federal has purchased information technology services provider Data Networks Corp. for an undisclosed sum as part of a federal IT market growth push.

ASRC Federal’s parent company Arctic Slope Regional Corp. announced the transaction Monday and said DNC will operate as a subsidiary within ASRC Federal.

“This acquisition expands our position in key federal IT markets, most notably health IT, while also augmenting our existing capabilities and services, ” ASRC Federal CEO Mark Gray said.

Reston, Virginia-headquartered DNC is a woman-owned business founded in 1984 that works in federal markets such as healthcare, defense, homeland security and law enforcement.

DNC holds positions on the General Services Administration‘s Alliant, Schedule 70 and Schedule 874 governmentwide acquisition contract vehicles.

The company also is a contractor for the small business portion of the National Institutes of Health‘s Chief Information Officers-Solutions and Partners 3 vehicle.
