Rob Salvagno, vice president of corporate business development at Cisco, said Tuesday the company seeks to leverage Lancope’s StealthWatch system to further help customers analyze network behavior, identify threats and access security intelligence.
Salvagno added Cisco made the acquisition to also expand its Security Everywhere initiative through development of threat protection tools for enterprise infrastructure, data centers and mobile and cloud platforms.
Both companies expect the transaction to close during the second quarter of Cisco’s 2016 fiscal year.
Alpharetta, Georgia-based Lancope will operate under Cisco’s security business group, led by David Goeckeler, upon completion of the acquisition process.
