TYSONS CORNER, VA, October 7,  2015 — Discussions at the upcoming 2015 Red Hat (NYSE: RHT) Government Symposium will focus on open source software and how it is utilized in agencies to build innovation, GovCon Executive reported Tuesday.

Red Hat said Oct. 1 Damon Edwards, co-founder at DTO Solutions, will provide the keynote address at the Nov. 10 event to be attended by more than 600 IT professionals from government and industry.

Paul Smith, vice president and general manger for Red Hat’s U.S. public sector business, underscores the technology balancing act that federal chief information officers desire to maintain amid changing government IT operations.

“This technology is changing the way teams work and the way projects are executed, resulting in increased efficiency and innovation across agencies, ” Smith said.

“We are proud to host the 2015 Red Hat Government Symposium, and offer this inspiring community of developers and leaders an opportunity to come together and collaborate on the challenges they face and solutions they’ve found.”
