Lockheed Orders Alcoa Titanium for F-35 Airframe Structures


F-35TYSONS CORNER, VA, October 8,  2015 — Alcoa (NYSE: AA) has sealed a nine-year, $1.1 billion deal to supply the titanium for the airframes on all Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) F-35 Lightning II variants, ExecutiveBiz reported Wednesday.

The contract relies on the recent acquisition of RTI that Alcoa said helped boost the company’s advanced manufacturing and materials technologies.
