Lockheed said Thursday the new Sniper Advanced Targeting Pod-Sensor Enhancement platform has a two-way datalink tool, algorithms and updated sensors that work to help pilots detect and track maritime and aerial targets and perform surveillance, intelligence and reconnaissance operations.
The company will also install new line replaceable units to upgrade existing Sniper ATPs onboard the service branchâs aircraft to the ATP-SE configuration.
Lockheed is scheduled to start deliveries of new targeting pods and upgrade kits in the fourth quarter of 2016.
